Burberry Prorsum Womenswear Spring/Summer 2014 – London Fashion Week

Soft, relaxed, feminine, modern, romantic…

Luxurious lace in pale pink and pistachio amid sweet sweaters and sheer skirts in lovely lilac… This is the prettiest of the Spring Summer shows so far! Ladylike elegance was offset by subtle modern details like the yellow and green manicures. In true Burberry fashion, trenches and raincoats were also featured in an array of styles including rhinestone-encrusted and transparent plastic iterations. Accessories were ornate but relaxed with models clutching the softly folded bags in hand. The show finished with a final flourish of rose petal confetti – perfectly appropriate.

What I love about Burberry is each collection beautifully depicts the fashion of the time while also resembling a certain timelessness. Love!

Happy Tuesday sweeties!

A never ending stream of dreamy ensembles are always to be expected as the fashion set attend the Couture shows in the French Capital, and this season was certainly no exception. For me, it seemed Chanel, Dior and Valentino boasted the best dressed attendees in which classic palettes, pink, rosettes, tweed, and holographic hints reigned supreme. There was a distinctly lady-like feel to many ensembles this season (which I love), featuring feminine tailoring or volume, with a bold trendy twist. Much of the intricate detail could be found in the ornate and unique accessories like shoes and handbags… J’Adore!

Christian Dior Spring/Summer 2013 Haute Couture show – Paris

There is little I love more than a beautiful couture collection and it is no secret that Christian Dior is always my particular favourite. Models sauntered through a maze of wonderland-like garden hedges in the enchanting show suitably set in Paris’ Tuilleries this week. The collection itself beautifully balanced an array of sheer florals, structured peplums, bustiers and voluminous gowns in a vast palette of blacks, brights and pastels. Sheer fabrics, intricate embroidery and voluminous shapes defined the ethereal ensembles, in the second couture collection by Dior designer Raf Simons. Simons held true to traditional Christian Dior aesthetics while also uniquely combining ballet-like femininity with structured silhouettes along with floral headpieces, gloves, and metallic hued heels. The final touch was of course the bright embellished beauty look, with each model’s lips adorned with red and pink pave’ diamantes. Simply stunning! I found the Spring Summer ’13 couture collection by Christian Dior to be uniquely beautiful. I love the whimsical way the collection and the show was curated in the ultimate depiction of creativity come to life.
